In Toronto, members were treated to an exciting and enlightening conversation with Mikel Hurwitz, who, in addition to being an accomplished screen composer in his own right, holds the esteemed position of being the current assistant to famed A-List composer, Danny Elfman.
Mikel shared his experiences working for Mr. Elfman, and provided a rare and intimate look into the life and work of a Hollywood legend. Mikel’s insights into what it takes to be a successful assistant was of great interest to anyone thinking of pursuing that as an avenue in their own career.
The presentation by Mikel was followed by a talk moderated by SCGC 1st Vice President Adrian Ellis, and finished with a Q&A.
