Jeff Johnston is an award-winning composer for film games and television. His music has been heard on PBS, Prime, CBC Newsworld, The Documentary Channel, Teletoons, CTV, Global TV and he has scored numerous films for the National Film Board of Canada. With musical beginnings as a jazz pianist and recording artist, his works are infused with alluring harmonies, lush textures, rhythmic inventiveness and spontaneity.

From 2021 - 2023 Johnston served on the Board of Directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada. He has been affiliated with several professional associations including SOCAN, American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, Academy of Scoring Arts, and the American Federation of Musicians.
In 2025, Johnston was the recipient of a Juno award for his role as arranger/orchestrator for Classical Composition of the Year. He holds a Master's degree in Orchestration for Film Games and Television from Thinkspace Education/University of Chichester.
