Kate has been working in the music and media space as a producer and composer for over ten years. In her role as the Senior Music Producer for Shutterstock and PremiumBeat, Kate has produced sessions at Abbey Road, AIR London, Hollywood Scoring, British Grove and Air Edel. She brings a deep understanding of human behaviour to her compositions, resulting in emotive works that melt seamlessly into the accompanying film or visual elements.
After starting out playing in bands in her hometown of Brisbane, Kate toured internationally for nearly two decades supporting artists such as Tegan and Sara, Death Cab for Cutie and Nada Surf. She performed on Letterman and at major festivals, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. Kate has released multiple critically acclaimed records and EPs with various projects, most notably her band An Horse.
In 2015, indie label Mom + Pop Records released Kate’s self-titled album Cooper. Songs from the record were placed in TV shows and advertisements, including Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Netflix and Disney.
Kate is based in Montreal but regularly travels to record with orchestras and musicians around the world, most recently in London, LA and Tokyo.
