Mike Herriott
I am a Canadian jazz trumpeter who plays many instruments. I have written original compositions and arrangements for a wide range of ensembles (from duos to full orchestra) and have had my arrangements appear on over a dozen albums including three of cellist Ofra Harnoy's most recent albums, the "Covers From Away" album (produced by the "Come From Away" production company). I have produced and directed a number of music videos (for which I wrote and recorded the original arrangements) that appear on Ofra Harnoy's official YouTube site. I have recorded for CBC, CTV, Universal, NBC, Disney, PBS (featured in a production about the Rochester Jazz Festival), and have appeared on Grammy, Emmy, and Juno award winning productions. I hold a Masters Degree in Composition from York University.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE / INFORMATION
I am originally a classical trumpeter but I also play a number of other instruments, an asset that has allowed me to supply, using multi-tracking, a full orchestral brass section for a film client. I have written music that falls primarily into the realm of jazz but I have also written more programmatic and less genre-specific music for orchestral performances and stage productions. With my musical partner and wife, Ofra Harnoy, we have managed to generate the sound of an entire orchestra with just the two of us individually tracking in our own studio. Examples of this can be found on Ofra Harnoy's YouTube channel.
OTHER INFORMATION
I have my own recording studio and work with Ron Searles (Red Maple Sound, CBC) for mixing and mastering. Ron's studio is a certified Dolby Atmos Studio.
