Synthesis for the Screen

Join Neil Parfitt online this fall for a workshop exploring how synthesizers are used in modern film and TV scoring. The focus will be subtractive synthesis—learning to build pulses, drones, tickers, and atmospheric textures from scratch. These techniques apply across all DAWs and synth gear, hardware or software. Neil will demonstrate primarily using VCV Rack (free to download), making it easy to follow along. Whether you’re brand new to synths or looking to deepen your skills, this workshop will take you from the basics to an intermediate level of sound design (and confident synth dorkery!).
