Harmony for the Modern Storyteller: Beginner
Unlock the emotional power of harmony. 🎹✨ Explore how harmonic language shapes modern storytelling — from the tension and resolution of functional harmony to the expressive freedom of post-tonal landscapes. This 4-week journey is designed for composers who want to decode their own harmonic instincts, understand why certain progressions move us, and expand their musical language beyond the familiar.

Instructor Bio
Erica Procunier is a two-time Canadian Screen Award–winning, Emmy-nominated composer for film, television, and other media. Known for her whimsical, mischievous, and emotionally rich scores, her work includes Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go, Apple TV+’s Ghostwriter (Emmy-nominated), and CBC’s Little Dog and Detention Adventure. Her music has been featured at TIFF in Don’t Talk to Irene and Mariner, and performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Erica is a composition professor at Humber College, Vice President of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, and an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre. She holds a Master’s degree in Composition from Western University.
