Alex Purcell
Alex Purcell is a Toronto-based film composer. His film scoring works include Spencer Ryerson’s gruesome comedy “Claire,” which was awarded official selection at Canadian Film Fest and Vaughan International Film Festival, and Vancouver Island Short Film Festival. Alex has composed for various indie short films, as well as Canadian feature film, titled “The Long Night.” Alex operates out of his studio in Toronto, and is a reputable multi-instrumentalist on the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. Alex has studied film scoring at Humber College under Jim McGrath, the composer behind the popular TV series “Degrassi.” Alex has also been a recipient of the SOCAN Foundation award for Best Young Screen Composer. Alex is currently working on an animated web series.
