Ever wondered what an experienced engineer will bring to the scoring table?Veteran recording and mixing engineer Brian Nevin (Jimmy Webb. Loreena McKennitt, Lighthouse) will explore the world of music mixing and mastering by taking you
behind the scenes at a mix session, with examples of score, song recordings, putting the whole process under a microscope.

PLACE: Keen Music, 119 Spadina,7th floor, Toronto
ADMISSION: $15 (incl.HST)
OVERVIEW: – focus on EQ, multi-band compression, and limiting.
NOTE: this session is not intended as a mastering class for CD release (ie red book), but to put finishing touches on a mixed musical piece. Attention will be paid as to the needs of various media- for broadcast or simply a composer demo. Composer Mp3 Submissions: several random & anonymous composer mixes to be selected and mastered by Brian at this session. Guidelines to come. Please do not send mixes in at this time.
BRIAN NEVIN
A graduate of the MIA program at Fanshawe College in 1982, Brian Nevin has had over 28 fruitful years in the Canadian music industry as a recording engineer. In that time, he has worked in virtually all of the main disciplines with regard to audio media. In short, he has recorded & mixed music for (5.1) feature films, television series, & record albums, as well as recorded/mixed post-production audio for television commercials.
