The Screen Composers Guild of Canada joined forces with colleagues at SPACQ-AE to host a joint networking event for music composers in Montreal yesterday.
With a full crowd, the engaged participants were able to exchange ideas, share experiences and build new relationships with fellow screen composers. Representatives from both organizations were also present to help explain the objectives and benefits of the two associations. These people included:
- Tonya Dedrick, Director-General of the SCGC, accompanied by Stéphanie Hamelin-Tomala and Jérémie Corriveau, members of its Board of Directors.
- Ariane Charbonneau, Director General of SPACQ-A, alongside Gautier Villette, Head of Member Service, and Edgar Bori, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the directors of Anas Larocque and Michel Corriveau.
- Also present were Jean-Christian Céré, Chief of Members’ Services, and Éloïse Thibault, SOCAN’s Charter Affairs Specialist for Quebec and Communications.
Tonya Dedrick and Ariane Charbonneau opened the event by welcoming delegates and highlighting the importance of networking opportunities such as this in strengthening the screen composer community.
Building upon the success of the event, the two organizations are already at work for the next events that’s scheduled in Montreal for December 2025.
