The SCGC is excited to have Erica Procunier, screen composer and board member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, representing Canadian Screen Composers at Whistler Film Festival’s; Women on Top: Making Media Equitable. At this panel Erica will be speaking about composing and gender equality and diversity within our sector, which will be the first time that composers have been invited to speak alongside other advocates for gender and diversity, and this is also the first study to examine the professional landscape of female Screen Composers in Canada.

Erica also scored Dancing Dogs of Dombrova https://whistlerfilmfestival.com/detail/?slug=the-dancing-dogs-of-dombrova which will have its Canadian Premiere at the Whistler Film Festival. Erica will speak along side key creatives at the WFF Content Summit Music Summit Session, where they will talk about the creative relationship between director, editor and composer https://whistlerfilmfestival.com/industry-summit/ . This film is one of a handful scored by women (others include Morgan Kibby (Girls of the Sun), Tatiana Lisovkaia (At Eternity’s Gate), and Leigh Roberts & Allison Piccioni (This Changes Everything)), and one of the only Canadian women composers featured at the festival with a feature film, highlighting our research findings.
