Applications Close August 4th – apply now!
The Screen Composers Guild of Canada (SCGC) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the SCGC x CFC Composer-Filmmaker Forum, a new two-day professional development initiative presented by the SCGC in collaboration with the Canadian Film Centre (CFC).
Taking place August 13–14, 2026 at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto, the Forum will bring together emerging screen composers, established industry professionals, and members of the CFC filmmaking community for two days of learning, discussion, mentorship, and relationship building.
We are soliciting participation from emerging screen composers who are actively pursuing professional careers in screen composition but are not yet earning the majority of their income from screen composing or closely related composing activities.
This Forum is designed to help bridge the gap between developing your craft and building a sustainable professional career. Success in the screen industries depends on understanding technology, business, collaboration, and professional relationships. The SCGC x CFC Composer-Filmmaker Forum is designed to explore exactly those topics.
