Toronto, 15 August 2023: The SCGC offer its solidarity and support to SAG-AFTRA, the WGA, and their members in their efforts to achieve a fair and equitable contract through strike action.

“The cause of our fellow audiovisual artists is our cause, as we believe every creator’s work holds profound value,” said John Welsman, SCGC’s President. “We are grateful for their efforts, and sacrifices, to secure fair compensation and a production environment which respects and rewards the indispensable contributions of all creator artists. There is no creative industry without the contributions of an array of human creators”

The SCGC is closely monitoring the strike actions and assessing their impact on our own Canadian industry and membership.
